The Senior System Administrator role provides system administration maintenance and support for the NPAC  (Number Portability Administration Center) Lab and Production Telecommunications Application Service environments.  The Senior System Administrator is a crucial member of our Operations team and is responsible for overseeing the installation, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of hardware, software, and network systems. 

This position has the following responsibilities:

• Provide system administration maintenance and support for various telecommunication-based service platforms.
• Relevant Oracle and HP hardware experience.
• Install – rack, stack, and cable new equipment hardware builds or equipment replacements in our data centers.
• Perform OS (VMware, Linux, Solaris) equipment installation and configurations for new builds and equipment replacements.
• Perform OS (VMware, Linux, Solaris) and application back-ups for test and production systems.
• Resolution of platform system issues and alarms.
• Trace data collection, log file analysis for network/application/middleware devices; service/system trouble correlation and general problem troubleshooting.
• Incident Management - Perform troubleshooting triage with multiple teams, investigations and mitigation/remediations of trouble tickets.
• Perform post-mortem and root cause analysis for service impacting issues and generate Root Cause Analysis reports.
• Batch job scripting, testing, and implementation.
• Cron jobs and file system maintenance.
• Change Management - Write and test MOPs (Method of Procedures) for common and complex system administration and operations practices.
• Write and execute Operations Acceptance Test Plans and Cases.
• Strictly adhere to standard Methods and Procedures (M&P) and Protocols defined for Operations Center personnel.
• Develop and maintain technical documentation required to support the platform, such as, Operations Design Requirements documents (ODRs) and Runbooks.
• Must be available to work 24 x 7 on-call rotation during off-hours to support the needs of the business:  nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Must be available to work off-hours maintenance activities, as needed and required.
• Must be willing to perform data center support activities on-site, both on and off hours, as needed and required.
   

Recommended Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in technology related field – MIS, Computer Science, Networking, EE, or ME or equivalent experience.
• Demonstrated Solaris, VMware and Linux system administration expertise.
• Minimum of 10 years of relevant working experience.
• Programming:  Proficiency with Linux/Unix Shell Scripting Programming (Python).
• Demonstrated experience with common server applications:   JBOSS, Tomcat, Oracle.
• Communication:   TCP/IP, UDP, TCAP, SNMP, SS7, Networking is a plus.
• Previous operations center experience: technical troubleshooting, customer support, monitoring systems and ticket/incident management, resolution, and escalation processes.
• Knowledge of IT service operations and management. Experience in a customer care and technical support in an IT environment.
• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail and the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Applications Suite and SharePoint.
• Ability to communicate with all levels of management.

The role of Database Administrator ensures that the system and application infrastructure handles diverse sources of data seamlessly, understands data analysis, end-user requirements analysis, and business requirements analysis to develop a clear understanding of the business needs and to incorporate these needs into technical solutions. This role will ensure data pipelines are scalable, repeatable, and secure, and can serve multiple business units within the organization. Facilitate data collection and movement between a variety of different sources, analyze data from the various sources and produce meaningful reports and/or presentations.

This position has the following responsibilities:
 

• Oracle database and RAC installations and configurations using Dataguard replication.
• Database administration for Lab and Production application databases.
• Maintain Lab and Production application databases through upgrade and patching process.
• Perform Lab and Production database back-ups and recoveries.
• Write and edit automated jobs that import and export data between systems.
• Provide detailed analysis, design, tuning, testing, implementation and documentation of the business intelligence system and data warehouse.
• Provide expertise in writing and editing queries that read, manipulate, and analyze data from business intelligence, relational databases, and data warehouses.
• Responsible for business intelligence quality testing, stakeholder approval and user acceptance testing.
• Create tables and write reports on your findings, validating data output through SQL and simplify highly technical language for end users in the company.
• Translate business requirements into system and application requirements and assess where support is needed relative to existing technical system design.
  • Participate in creating strategies and roadmaps for business intelligence and data platforms.
  • Ability to learn and utilize programs to analyze data from different sources and produce meaningful reports and/or presentations.
  • Contribute to the development of standards and processes for integration projects and initiatives.
  • Work with other developers and DBAs to make sure that all data solutions are consistent.
  • Create data flow diagrams and data catalogs for data management systems.
  • Work with other development teams to review and implement database changes according to database design standards and principles.
  • Resolve conflicts between models, ensuring that data models are consistent with the ecosystem model (e.g., entity names, relationships, and definitions).
  • Code, test, and document new or modified data systems to create robust and scalable applications for data analytics.
     
     

Required Qualifications:
 

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, or similar technical discipline or equivalent work experience.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience creating reports using SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) writing complex stored procedures and functions. Experience with Tableau or Power BI a plus.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience working with Oracle database systems.
• Advanced level of programming knowledge (reporting code) and of relational databases, database structures and design, systems design, data management, data warehouse a plus.
• Advanced knowledge of data modeling and understanding of different data structures and their benefits and limitations under particular use cases.
• Proven experience working hands-on with big data systems.
• Experience with monitoring, backup, and disaster recovery of data systems.
• Experience with DataGuard and cross-site data replication, synchronization, and recovery.
• Experience with database cross-site failovers.
• Substantial knowledge of C++, Linux, Java, Python, VMware, Solaris, or comparable scripting languages.
• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail and the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Applications Suite and SharePoint.

The Senior Network Engineer role is responsible for the implementation, planning, and coordination of network and security systems and software that protects the technological infrastructure for the NPAC (Number Portability Administration Center). In this capacity, the Senior Network Engineer builds and maintains the daily operations of computer networks for Lab and Production at our Primary and Alternate data centers. 

This position has the following responsibilities: 

• Must be available to support the needs of the business 24 x 7 via on-call team rotation.
• Support local data centers on-site and remotely to manage and maintain lab and production network equipment.  This includes performing work physically in the data center when on-site hands are required.
• Design, build, implement and test, green field lab and production network solutions.
• Design, implement and test network expansions and changes.
• Deploy, install, and configure hardware such as firewalls, switches, routers, load balancers, IPS, network monitoring systems and other network security related products.
• Develop project proposals, designs, implementation plans including timelines and cost projections for various network initiatives.
• Write functional requirements/specifications documents for network projects and initiatives.
• Perform network maintenance activities - upgrade network hardware, IOS upgrades and network routing configuration implementations and modifications, as required.
• Review and develop MoPs (Method of Procedures) for network change management implementations in lab and production environments.
• Develop and maintain Network ODR (Operations Design Requirement) documents for network data configuration record keeping and archives.
• Perform network troubleshooting to isolate, diagnose and resolve common and complex network problems.
• Develop and implement network acceptance test plans for new network builds.
• Perform network modeling, analysis, and planning.
• Be able to advise and present technology related issues and trends to management.
• Knowledge share, direct and guide junior members of the team.

Required Qualifications:  

• Expertise in Fortinet FortiGate, FortiSwitch network gear and FortiManager, FortiAnalyzer and FortiAuthenticator.  Fortinet Certified Professional - Network Security Certification.
• BS or MS in Network Engineering and Administration or related technology field.
• Minimum 7 years of IT Network experience.
• Must be available to support the needs of the business 24 x 7 via on-call team rotation.
• Strong experience in the areas of Network requirements analysis, architecture, engineering, operations, and maintenance.
• Experience with Cisco router, ASA, and switching (Catalyst, Nexus) systems, F5 load balancing and network monitoring tools is a plus.
• Expertise in the following areas: WAN, LAN, Switching, and IP addressing, Routing Protocols, Firewalls, IPSec VPN tunnels and network/data security.
• Expertise with SNMP – and NetFlow-based network monitoring and management
• Expertise with infrastructure cabling and premise guideline specifications
• Experience with various operating systems and environments (Windows, Linux, Solaris).
• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail and the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
